Shorter workouts
A mini workout is better than not working out at all! Start with 5–10-minute workouts and increase them weekly. This will help you get into the mindset of an active daily fitness routine. This will also disregard any excuse as anyone can take 5 minutes out of their day to exercise! You can work out while watching a Netflix episode, doing laundry, or even washing the dishes. It is easy to convince yourself to do a short workout, then have to drive to the gym for an hour of training.
Have an adaptable and flexible mindset
If your training session is not completely perfect, adapt and change your routine. If you missed your scheduled class, don’t feel demotivated but rather do your own thing in the gym! Life isn’t perfect and so isn’t your fitness journey as well! Don’t be too hard and yourself and go with your backup plans.
The gym is not always the answer
You don’t need to sign up for a gym contract that is going to cost a lot of money to be fit. There are so many ways to stay active without having a gym membership. For example, run up and down your stairs, jog in the neighborhood or do squats while you brush your teeth. Anything is possible!
Stay accountable for missed workouts
Skipping a workout should be seen as a decision made and that it didn’t happen because you ran out of time. Change your mindset by leaving your gym bag in the TV room and having the opportunity to look past it or rather to not watch TV directly after work. Leave your yoga mat or gym bag in your car as a constant reminder to go past the gym before going home.
Change your workout routine regularly
Changing things up will help you to stay interested in your fitness journey while also seeing results. If a certain type of workout doesn’t work, try something else especially if you don’t see results.
Start each day of a fresh page
Every day you have a choice to make small changes that could have a big impact on your fitness journey. Don’t be too hard on yourself, especially when making a mistake, keep going and do not throw everything away. Yes, you are allowed to fail, but just try deciding what choice will lead to success next.
Take it day by day, choice by choice.
Make fitness your favorite habit. You deserve the body you always wanted. 💙
